Die Kombination aus Cello und Bass in einer Band geht nicht? Von wegen! Probiert es doch selbst einmal aus. Das Matt Thiemig Jazz Trio bietet Altbewährtes in ungewöhnlicher Besetzung, kammermusikalisch präsentiert und von vielen Saiten dominiert: Gitarre, Violoncello (eCello) und Kontrabass. Das Repertoire der drei Dresdner Instrumentalisten führt durch die klassischen Epochen des Jazz des 20. Jh. Angefangen von über 100 Jahre alten und noch immer allseits beliebten Kompositionen, über Django Reinhardt, Swing bis hin zu Modern Jazz, ergänzt durch eigene Stücke aus dem Blues oder Tango und verziert durch die eine oder andere interessante oder amüsante Anekdote. Ein Musikabend voller neuer Klänge in vertrauten Lieblingsstücken.
Christmas in a Castle 12.2022
Did you know that you will find lots of marvellous castles in Saxony? Three of them in a row shine their glory from the hills down to the Elbe river in Dresden. With the groovy support of the great Martin Zschoche on drums it was a great pleasure to fill the old castles ballroom with the glamour of swing.
Shredding a shed 10.2022
Last saturday on country side. Cats and dogs, chicks and pigs where dancing to the moonlight jazz. Thanks to all for the great evening in a great location.
Season 2022/23
We are very pleased that the wonderful Sophie Pianski more frequently joins our team. Her magnificent voice adds a lot of spirit to our vocal numbers. But even titles like "Mercy, mercy, mercy", that we used to play instrumental only and "did not even notice there could be a vocal tune" ;-), win a lot by adding this bautiful voice! Thanks for that, Ms Sophie!
