Matt Thiemig
Matt Thiemig started with violin at the age of 5 but quickly switched to his passion playing guitar in his young years. Matt experiences music in it’s whole which guides him cross over from classical guitar, rock guitar to his profession of the jazz guitar tending arrangement and compositoric work. He studied jazz guitar with Uwe Kropinski, counterpoint with Professor Juergen Wilbrandt and classical guitar at the University Hanns Eisler Berlin and performed master classes with Abel Carlevaro, Pepe Romero and Carlo Marchione. Beside his engagements in various arrangements, like the Erich Weinert Ensemble Berlin and The Staatstheater Cottbus and as a soloist, his main profession is teaching guitar, improv, piano, double bass and ukulele for the last decades.
Matt Thiemig's performances reach from folky Gipsy Swing tunes (Franz List is a Grand-Grand-Grandfather teacher) to avantgard jazz, with a good portion of humor. The repertoire includes jazz standards, classical music and original compositions as well.

Tobias Klug
I was born in 1962 in Dresden, started playing the violin at the age of six and developed as a multi-talented artist. From 1975 to 1980 I attended the Special School of Music in Dresden, majoring in double bass. During this time I became acquainted with the disdain as a double bass player in the orchestra and in society, which led to the discontinuation of my university studies as an orchestral musician and I turned to the study of theology. The knowledge gained in the process led to the termination of the same.
This was followed by a break in my musical career with jobs as a porter, assistant porter, janitor, sexton, bakery assistant and porter, which then led to training as a jazz musician at the conservatory in Leipzig. During this time I worked as a substitute in orchestras, received lessons from the solo bassist of the Leipzig Gewandhaus and began my cabaret career, which culminated in 1985 in the 2nd main prize of the 8th Days of Chanson in Frankfurt/Oder. This was the beginning of an extensive touring activity through numerous cities and theaters of the GDR, after 1987 also through the whole of Germany and the neighboring German-speaking countries. In addition, there were many appearances on radio and television, as well as a record production.
After leaving the DDR in 1987, I lived in Landsberg am Lech until 2016 and have been a member of the local music cabaret group Mistcapala since 2000. As a bass player I have participated in various formations, from church music to tango, from jazz to alpine folk music.
Since 1994 I have been performing children's theater with my musical clown play: "Die Zauberfiedel" and various fairy tales with my puppet house theater.
Since 2017 I live again in Dresden and operate there under the theater name: "KlixKlax KlugsTheater Dresden".

Philipp Gottesleben
Philipp was born shortly after the first moon landing and began playing the cello at the age of six. His musical education was profoundly shaped by Klaus Matakas at the Lahr School of Music (Baden-Württemberg). He later expanded his repertoire beyond classical music, studying the fundamentals of jazz piano with Wolfgang Gottwald at the Jazz & Rock School in Freiburg.
Refusing to be confined to a single genre, Philipp brings a wide range of musical influences to the electric cello. He performs everything from Rock (with the band Misses Columbo) and Blues to European Gypsy Jazz and American Jazz standards with the Matt Thiemig Band (www.matt-thiemig.de). He also supports the singer-songwriter trio Monday Eve (www.mondayeve.de) with rich, low-register lines. In his solo project "Cello Blue", Philipp presents original compositions and electronic music that blends ambient, chillout, jazz, and rock. Using a multi-track looper, he builds his songs live on stage. Alongside grooving bass lines, he experiments with classic effects like chorus, wah, distortion, and synthesized sounds, enriching his arrangements through variations and improvisation.

Marc Grundke
Our youngster Marc is a multiinstrumentalist who started his addiction with melodica and keys at "Musikschule Fröhlich". Shackked by passion to the groove he studied drums at the Robert Schumann Konservatorium in Zwickau. Not enough Marc composed chiptunes and music for video games (80+). Rolling out his musical skills Marc performed as drummer in a rockband and - after years of selfstudy - engaged in various jazz bands on bass. You will meet Marc frequently in the local jam sessions of Dresden. And last but not least: He is a passionate jazz singer :)
